During the recent World Economic Forum, UpLink launched a global call for innovative start-ups working towards carbon recycling through industrial carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technologies.

Through such targeted challenges, UpLink, the early-stage innovation initiative of the World Economic Forum, supports early-stage entrepreneurs and builds an innovation ecosystem to drive positive systemic change for people and planet.

We warmly congratulate our members D-CRBN, Dioxycle, eChemicles, Greenlyte Carbon Technologies, and UP Catalyst for being recognised among the 11 top innovators by Uplink’s Global CCU Challenge.

Only eleven start-ups were selected as top innovators from an impressive 315 proposed solutions which demonstrated the economic viability and growth potential of industrial CCU technologies.

Discover our top innovators members who contributed to creating a real impact:

🔵 D-CRBN, which achieved the second place in this challenge, utilises its proprietary plasma-based technology to recycle captured CO₂ into valuable products like e-fuels, polymers, and chemicals, forming the basis of a circular carbon economy that promotes a net-zero future.

🔵 Dioxycle, which won the third place, is generating sustainable ethylene through breakthrough electrolysis technology. Its core technology is a patented electrolyzer that cuts out fossil fuels from the production of ethylene and serves as the missing link that allows renewable electricity to be transformed into essential commodities, such as jet fuel, textiles, auto parts, and building materials.

🔵 eChemicles developed the best performing and scalable CO₂-to-CO conversion electrolyzer technology, capable of directly utilizing CO₂ in a waste-to-wealth manner.

🔵 Greenlyte Carbon Technologies converts captured CO₂ and H₂ into green hydrocarbons for a fossil-free future.

🔵 UP Catalyst produces graphite and carbon nanotubes from CO₂ emissions, reducing reliance on fossil-based carbon materials.

Winners of this challenge benefit from targeted support, exclusive networks, and the chance to share part of the CHF 300,000 prize, enabling further development and scale-up of their solutions.
