Our Vision

“CCU becomes an integral element of the transition to a sustainable economy, being of benefit to the climate, the economy and the people. It is part of the solutions to mitigate climate change and move away from fossil resources”

We believe that Carbon Capture and Utilisation technologies offer a large panel of solutions to carbon intensive sectors where no or very few other alternatives exist, e.g. energy, process industry, transport and construction.
CCU technologies should not substitute large-scale efforts to prevent greenhouse gas emissions and develop more sober solutions, at the contrary, our vision is that all solutions should be combined wisely in considering the timescale of their impact, their mitigation potential based on life-cycle analysis and the most efficient use of energy and resources.

Our Mission

“Develop a circular, viable and industrial-scale CCU solution to foster the transition towards sustainable ecosystems”

The mission of CO2 Value Europe is to promote the development and market deployment of sustainable industrial solutions that convert CO2 into valuable products, in order to contribute to the net reduction of global CO2 emissions and to substitute fossil carbon with CO2 as feedstock.

Strategic goals

Increase recognition and affirm credibility of CCU solutions

Ensure supportive policy framework

Foster innovation and up-scaling

Communicate on the merits and limitations of CCU

Our activities

CCU recognition and credibility

  • Create a collective intelligence on CCU technologies, the related scientific evidence, projects and stakeholders involved in the field
  • Develop databases on CCU activities
  • Quantify the potential of CCU for net CO2 emission reductions

Up-scaling
and innovation

  • Support the development of flagship projects
  • Connect partners and support them access public and private funding
  • Support CCU innovation through own participation in EU funded projects

Ensure supportive policy framework

  • Analyse policy landscape and positioning
  • Advocate for the creation of a favourable regulatory and market framework for a large-scale deployment of CCU
  • Create synergies and collaborations with like-minded stakeholders

Communicate on the merits and limitations of CCU

  • Raise awareness and acceptance on CCU technologies
  • Increase the visibility of CCU projects
  • Disseminate state-of-the-art information on CCU

Values we believe in

Like-minded Members
and Partners

When joining the association, members agree to only promote CCU solutions that effectively contribute to a net reduction of global CO2 emissions based on accepted LCA standards.

The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) ensures that the association’s messages are based on solid and objective scientific evidence.
