Founded in 1881, Ragn-Sells is involved in waste management, environmental services, and recycling. Operating in four countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Estonia), our new member collects, treats, and recycles waste and residual products from businesses, organisations, and households.
Ragn-Sells operates in three business areas, all based on a circular-economy rationale.
Recycling: Collecting and recycling waste and passing on the recycled materials in new processes.
- Ragn-Sells collects material with accurate quality, combining it with other similar materials, and ensuring that the quality meets needs and expectations.
Treatment and Detox: Managing and finding solutions for materials that are not clean enough for circular flow.
- The treatment facilities focus on a non-toxic environment, working on solutions to properly manage materials that should not re-enter the circular flow.
- Our new member has landfills that serve as either final disposal sites or temporary storage for materials that can be utilised in the future.
New Value Chains: Developing new recycling flows and cross-industry collaborations.
- Utilising waste to replace virgin resources presents huge opportunities to reduce carbon footprint.
- Ragn-Sells’ project in Estonia extracts calcium oxide from ashes and combines it with CO₂ to produce precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC)..
