CO2 Value Europe has recently welcomed Vicat as a member of its dynamic and rapidly growing community active in developing Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technology across Europe.
Vicat is a French family run company, founded nearly 170 years ago in the footsteps of Louis Vicat. Today, across 12 countries, the Group lays out a top-class offering of bio-based and mineral construction materials, along with services that meet the needs of the construction trades. Vicat is committed to carbon neutrality goals in 2050 and with recognizing that our world’s precious resources are finite, Vicat is embracing circular operations by reducing, reusing and recycling materials.
Vicat is considering CCU as one of the critical tools for the total decarbonisation of the cement plants. In this context, Vicat is developing a CCU technology to be integrated into their biggest cement plant in Montalieu. Besides, Vicat, under a partnership with Heidelberg Materials, Dyckerhoff/Buzzi and Schwenck Cement, has commenced the oxycombustion 2nd generation project named ‘CI4C’ at Schwenck Cement in Germany.
