This morning, our Secretary General Anastasios Perimenis delivered a Keynote Lecture titled “A European Roadmap for the Deployment of CCU by 2050” at the 20th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilisation (ICCDU 2023), in Bari, Italy.
The “European Roadmap for CCU” is CO2 Value Europe’s initiative to determine the contribution of CCU in reaching the EU’s climate goals by 2050. The initiative includes scenario development, modelling of CCU pathways, analysis and quantification of CCU’s potential, and recommendations on how to realise this potential.
For nearly thirty years, the ICCDU has provided a global meeting place for chemists, engineers, and environmental policy planners to come together and discuss the latest developments in the field of CO₂ capture and utilisation.
Over the next few days, the conference will be focusing on a large number of topics spanning from biological fixation, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, electrochemistry, carbonation of waste, hydrated CO₂, Life Cycle Assessment, Integrated Processes, CO₂ enabling/sustainable processes.
