On the 14th of November, our Policy Director Tudy Bernier participated as a speaker in the “E-fuels: the alternative to fossil fuels?” debate within the framework of the Politico Live Sustainable Future Week.

During the intense debate Tudy discussed the importance of carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) for energetic applications, the challenges associated with their industrial-scale production and how CCU fuels, also known as e-fuels, can contribute to the defossilisation of the transport sector in Europe, in particular for the aviation & maritime sectors, as well as in industry.

The debate also saw the participation of Tobias Block, Head of Strategy and Content, eFuel Alliance and Julia Poliscanova, Senior Director Electric Vehicles & Batteries at Transport & Environment, and it was moderated by Joshua Posaner, Senior Defense and Space Reporter, POLITICO.

From 14 – 16 November, POLITICO Live is hosting its annual Sustainability Future Week in Brussels during which Politico reporters will interview key policymakers, scientists, campaigners, and business executives to discuss the most recent progress in the EU’s energy and climate policies.
