We are glad to announce that our members elected Pablo Ortiz and Frederik Verhelst as new CO₂ Value Europe Board Members during yesterday’s Mid-Term General Assembly.

Pablo Ortiz is Project Manager at our member TECNALIA Research & Innovation’s Bioeconomy and CO₂ Group. Within the organisation, Pablo is responsible for the research related to CO₂-derived chemicals, conducting technological surveillance, and coordinating the research strategy related to this topic. In his role as project manager, he combines research planning and execution with project management.

Pablo’s area of expertise is R&D, covering the fields of organic chemistry, green chemistry, and (bio)polymer science. At a management level, he has experience in tecno-economic management of research projects, covering the whole process, from identifying funding opportunities to proposal preparation, planning, and execution.

Frederik Verhelst is Head of Materials at our member Lhoist Europe. Within the company, Frederik is driving the innovation, technical assistance, and marketing activities for the business innovation centre of Lhoist Europe in the fields of building materials and civil engineering. This covers Lhoist’s products from lime, dolime, carbonates and CO₂.

Frederik has 30 years of experience in engineering, technical sales, market development, innovation, advocacy and standardisation in concrete & cement technical sales and business development and innovation in the lime sector. Since its creation, he is also the Chair of the mineralisation working group at CO₂ Value Europe.
