Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to climate change mitigation by developing a more efficient technology for capturing CO₂ emissions from industrial flue gases.
  • Optimise temperature-vacuum swing adsorption process cycles.
  • Support the development of new structured sorbents through computational simulation and experimental sorption testing at lab- and pilot-scale.
  • Collaborate on (inter)national research projects with industrial and academic partners.
  • Deliver high-quality scientific results in accordance with project timelines.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact scientific publications and present results at relevant conferences.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Bioscience Engineering, or related fields.
  • Profound knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals, including fluid flow, heat & mass transfer, and kinetics, as well as gas adsorption phenomena.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process modeling and simulation tools for cyclic gas adsorption processes (e.g., ASPEN, Matlab, gPROMS, Python).

VITO is offering:

  • Competitive salary package with allowances, insurances, and a modular vacation package.
  • A collaborative work environment with a team of renowned experts in their respective fields.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training to stay at the forefront of your expertise.
