Our member eChemicles, a Hungarian company focusing on CO₂ electrolyser technologies, has announced a collaboration with MATECH, a member of KESZ Group’s Industrial Technologies division, to develop a novel containerised CO₂ electrolyser unit, a key step toward accelerating the commercialisation of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (#CCU) technology.
This collaboration brings together eChemicles’ patented and award-winning, low-temperature CO₂ electrolyser technology, which converts waste CO₂ into green carbon monoxide (CO) using renewable energy, with MATECH’s EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) expertise to accelerate industrial-scale deployment and help bring advanced sustainable systems to market faster.
When powered by carbon-free electricity, this technology will enable on-site testing at customer facilities, supporting profitable decarbonisation for hard-to-abate sectors such as chemicals, steel, plastics and synthetic fuels.
