The European Commission has recently published drafts of long-awaited RED II Delegated Acts on the access to renewable electricity for RFNBO (Art. 27) and the calculation methodology for GHG emissions reduction for RFNBO and RCF (Art. 28). These delegated acts, if appropriately designed, can be a real boost for the hydrogen economy and CCU and help realise the goals of RePower EU, the Hydrogen Strategy, REDII, ReFuel EU, FuelEU Maritime and other legislative proposals.
CO2 Value Europe is joining 17 Industrial Associations, representing many industrial and economic sectors, in a joint statement inviting the Commission to develop a pragmatic framework that would help ramp up RFNBO and RCF production by lifting restrictions on the access to renewable electricity and by reconsidering limitations in the origin of CO2 that can be put to use.
Please find the joint statement here.
