Welcome To Our New Member GRTgaz!
GRTgaz innovates and adapts its network and facilities to more sustainable practices. They support various sectors related to, e.g. industrial processes of anaerobic digestion, pyro-gasification, hydrothermal gasification and hydrogen.
Our new member is taking steps to further minimise their environmental footprint by reducing the impact of the whole gas value chain while preserving the energy efficiency of its model. One of GRTgaz’s core purposes is to enable an energy future that is safe, affordable and climate neutral. This is a long-term guiding principle that determines their strategic directions and resultant actions.
In line with this, GRTgaz’s energy transition objectives involve Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) as one of the solutions for their customers. They are working on implementing CCU and BECCU by building dedicated transmission infrastructure networks to efficiently transfer large amounts of CO2 from its location of capture to any potential users whether it is for utilisation, export or geological storage. The conversion of CO2 into energy carriers such as renewable fuels including e-methane is also a solution to “defossilise” the gas value chain and it complements energy efficiency efforts and the development of renewable and low-carbon energies.
