Welcome to Our New Member GRDF!

GRDF is one of France’s leading gas distribution network operators and a subsidiary of the ENGIE group.

Our new member aims to advance renewable and low-carbon gases, supporting the connection of over 700 biomethane injection sites to the French gas networks. These sites convert organic waste and agricultural residues into renewable energy, with a combined production capacity of 14 TWh/yr of renewable gas. To support the growth of renewable energy, GRDF promotes bioCO₂ projects– a by-product of biomethane production – through Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU).

By optimising the distribution of sustainable gas and facilitating the connection of these biomethane sites, our new member contributes to both local waste recovery and CO₂ emissions reduction. Their goal is to have 20% of the gas in their networks come from renewable sources by 2030, surpassing France’s national target of 10%.
