Our members Greenlyte and INERATEC, together with Rheinmetall and Sunfire, have entered a strategic partnership to deliver a Europe-wide Power-to-X (PtX) infrastructure: the GigaPtX solution.

In a rapidly changing world, energy resilience is no longer optional. The project aims to strengthen European resilience by building a network of several hundred modular and decentralised e-fuel production plants. Each plant is capable of producing 5,000–7,000 tonnes of synthetic fuels per year, operating independently of the public grid to support critical infrastructure, industry, and strategic use cases.

To span the full PtX value chain, the partners will cover the following areas:

🔵 Greenlyte offers the necessary green carbon via its LiquidSolar green molecule technology.

🔵 Rheinmetall, as general contractor, provides a holistic solution, from engineering and system integration to construction, operation and long-term maintenance.

🔵 INERATEC supplies fuel synthesis modules to convert hydrogen and carbon dioxide into synthetic fuels.

🔵 Sunfire delivers state-of-the-art electrolyser technologies for efficient green hydrogen production.

Germany has the potential to become a global exporter of PtX solutions as the technology is ready. What’s needed now are the political and regulatory frameworks to unlock rapid deployment.
