4^th Industrial Carbon Management Forum

The work of the 4 Working Groups of the Industrial Carbon Management (ICM) Forum (previously known as the CCUS Forum) has finally started. The results of the discussions will be presented in the yearly event of the ICM Forum in Pau (France) on 10-11 October 2024, which will bring together stakeholders from industry, EU countries, EU institutions, NGOs, academia, and others to discuss how to make the deployment of industrial carbon management projects a reality in Europe.

The ICM Forum communication has acknowledged the crucial role of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) in reaching climate targets while maintaining industrial competitiveness. In this context, the Forum has established a new Working Group on CCU to advance the deployment of CCU solutions and implement necessary actions based on ICM discussions.

The mandate of the Working Group focuses on identifying structural challenges and regulatory barriers hindering the development of CCU, while proposing solutions to overcome these obstacles. Our Secretary General, Anastasios Perimenis, co-chairs the Working Group alongside Elena Leonardi (CEFIC) and Małgosia Rybak (Cepi), and they will present the progress report on Friday the 11^th of October, at 09:05-09:15 (CEST). Our team will also closely follow the work of the other working groups on CO₂ infrastructure; CO₂ standards; and public perception.
