1st INITIATE Open Doors Day
February 16 @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
CO2 Value Europe is a proud partner of the INITIATE project, funded by the Horizon 2020 EU program and which will advance the implementation of circular economy, industrial symbiosis and carbon capture and utilisation technologies (CCU) by re-using residual steel gases as a resource for the cross-sectorial, more efficient and less wasteful manufacture of urea, at a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
The INITIATE consortium in cooperation with its project partners Swerim and CO2 Value Europe will hold the 1st INITIATE Open Doors Day on Thursday the 16th of February 2023 in Luleå, Sweden.
The event will be hosted at the Lulea Swerim plant and will be open to representatives from local authorities, researchers from the Luleå University of Technology, local residents, NGOs and policymakers interested in deepening their knowledge around Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies and the implementation of the INITIATE project in their area.
The aim is to foster social and public acceptance by promoting the concepts of industrial symbiosis, circular economy, and CCU to achieve climate neutrality in view of 2050.
During the Open Door Day, participants will have the chance to attend two high-level presentations on the challenges of decarbonising heavy industry and the role of CCU to mitigate climate change, as well as to take guided visits through the Swerim pilot plants and find out more about “CCU technology in practice”.
