Welcome to Our New Member, DLR!

DLR, the German aerospace research and technology centre, is one of the leading research institutions in Germany and across Europe. It actively contributes to energy research, with a particular focus on carbon-intensive sectors, supporting the scaling up of innovation and the market deployment of sustainable industrial solutions.

DLR’s goal is to efficiently retrofit carbon capture solutions—integrated with its advanced technologies, such as high-temperature heat pumps and solar power systems— into existing production processes and to produce high-quality base chemicals and fuels in an environmentally friendly and economic way.

Our new member is also developing new digital methodologies and tools for the simulation, optimisation, and evaluation of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (#CCU) processes to reduce energy, heat, and fossil fuel demand based on process design, CO₂ sources, and site-specific infrastructure.

These digital solutions are being designed as part of several internal DLR projects and EU-funded initiatives focused on CCU to develop sustainable aviation fuels and solar-based fuels from carbon capture.

By joining CO₂ Value Europe, organisations gain access to an exclusive network of innovators in the CCU industry. Membership provides numerous advantages, including the opportunity to showcase technology to potential partners and customers and foster collaborations with like-minded pioneers for joint research and industrial projects. This allows members to contribute to shaping a supportive CCU regulatory and economic framework through collective advocacy efforts. Additionally, members benefit from assistance in accessing public and private funding opportunities and increasing the visibility of their CCU activities to EU policymakers and the public, offering a platform to drive innovation and promote CCU as a crucial solution to mitigate climate challenges.
