CO₂ Value Europe published two contributions to EU consultations, with the support of its dedicated Working Groups:
🟢 We have built our response on the proposal for a certification framework on carbon removals as complementary to other actions to reduce GHG emissions, underlining the need to clarify definitions to make clear that biogenic and atmospheric carbon, when stored permanently via Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) mineralisation, corresponds to carbon removals.

🟢 We have also worked on a position on the proposal to revise the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, arguing for carbon circularity to be included in legislations, for example via a quota or a target of renewable carbon in its objectives, with appropriate incentives in line with the 20% of non-fossil carbon target in chemicals and plastics mentioned in the Communication on Restoring Sustainable Carbon Cycles.
