On the 17th of February, CO2 Value Europe co-organised with Swerim AB and the INITIATE project consortium the first INITIATE project Study Visit at the SWERIM pilot plant in Lulea, Sweden.
The event saw the participation of professionals and researchers from all over Europe and started with three higher education lectures by Paul Cobden from Swerim, Earl Goetheer from the Delft University of Technology and Kevin Rouwenhorst from the Ammonia Energy Association.
After lunch, the participants had the opportunity to participate in an inspiring visit to the SWERIM plant to witness the development of the pilot of the INITIATE project.
CO2 Value Europe is proudly part of the INITIATE consortium as WP7 leader in communication and dissemination. The INITIATE project, funded by the Horizon 2020 EU program, will advance the implementation of circular economy, industrial symbiosis and carbon capture and utilisation technologies (CCU) by re-using residual steel gases as a resource for the cross-sectorial, more efficient and less wasteful manufacture of urea, at a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
