Founded in 1990 in Valencia (Spain), AIMPLAS – Technological Institute of Plastics is a leading European research and innovation organisation focused on polymer science, sustainable materials, and advanced manufacturing. Its facilities include state‑of‑the‑art laboratories, pilot plants and specialised equipment supporting the full development cycle from material design to industrial demonstration.
AIMPLAS advances defossilisation and circular economy solutions by developing Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies, enabling catalytic conversion of waste carbon, creating recyclable and bio-based materials, and conducting life-cycle and carbon footprint assessments. It also supports industry in implementing low-emission strategies aligned with EU climate goals.
Our new member is currently engaged in several R&D activities supporting the development and industrial deployment of CCU technologies, addressing both CO₂ capture and utilisation sides across the value chain, and leveraging strong expertise in materials science, catalysis, and pilot-scale validation.
AIMPLAS joins CO₂ Value Europe with strong alignment to its mission and will contribute technical expertise, as well as support policy development, standardisation, and the market uptake of sustainable solutions.
